Indra wanted to create an outdoor living space that wasn’t dictated by the weather, a comfortable place to relax, entertain and enjoy the garden throughout the year.
We designed and installed a fully enclosed glass veranda, combining a glazed roof with sliding glass doors, integrated lighting and heating to create a genuine extension of the home’s living space.
The Brief
The aim was to create more than simply a covered patio. The new space needed to:
- Provide an outdoor room that could be enjoyed throughout the year.
- Offer protection from wind and rain.
- Retain an uninterrupted connection with the garden.
- Open up during warmer weather.
- Provide warmth and lighting for evenings and colder months.
- Feel contemporary and complement the property.

The veranda was designed across the rear of the property to create a generous new living area directly connected to the house.
A glazed roof allows natural light to flood into the space while maintaining views of the sky above. Full-height frameless sliding glass doors surround the veranda, providing protection when required without visually separating the room from the garden.
On warmer days, the glass panels can be opened back to transform the room into an open-air entertaining space.
We incorporated lighting and heating into the design so the veranda isn’t limited to summer afternoons. As daylight fades or temperatures fall, the space remains somewhere the family can comfortably spend time together.
The existing patio provides a clean, contemporary floor finish and helps the new structure feel integrated with the property rather than added onto it.
The Result
The completed veranda has created an entirely new living space for the home. With the glass closed, it becomes a sheltered garden room with panoramic views outside. Open the doors and the distinction between the room and garden almost disappears. Lighting extends its use into the evening, while heating makes the space comfortable through the cooler months. It’s an outdoor room designed around the realities of the British climate—and one that can be enjoyed far beyond the traditional summer season.
